The Grape Growers of Ontario (GGO) and the Ontario Apple Growers (OAG) have partnered with Agricorp to develop a robust Data Management System to track essential information related to crop attributes, varieties, locations, yield, quality, and cultural practices. Over time, the system will be expanded to include other commodities in addition to apples and grapes.
Organizing this information electronically will help growers to make farm management decisions that will increase their yields and returns. Commodity groups will benefit from electronic information management in running their organizations and through enhancement of business risk management programs delivered by Agricorp. The system will be capable of supporting traceability initiatives that will enhance Ontario growers' international reputation for excellence.
