Wet weather in most of Ontario is creating difficult planting conditions for many farmers.
Decisions to extend planting deadlines for Production Insurance require approval from the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
After assessing the risks and consulting with industry, Agricorp is extending the planting deadlines for the following.

Agricorp's commitment to keeping farmers informed
This spring has been difficult for farmers, with wet and cool weather and market disruptions causing concerns. Agricorp is here to help and respects that customers' time is limited.
Over the coming weeks, customers may receive a number of short automated email and phone messages from Agricorp. Each message is different, so customers are encouraged to listen to and/or read each message. Customers have said that they appreciate these services to keep them informed of planting extensions and/or important upcoming dates.
High call volumes expected
Because of the delayed planting, Agricorp is expecting an influx of phone calls this June. Farmers will have a shorter window to report their planted acres and many producers may call to report at the same time.
Agricorp appreciates and thanks customers for their patience during this busy time.
