As announced in the Government of Ontario's 2019 Ontario Budget on April 11, Ontario's Risk Management Program will continue for 2019. Some program changes were made to the RMP for livestock and RMP: Grains and Oilseeds plans to help ensure RMP continues to be there when farmers need it.
Here's what's new for 2019:
- A 95 per cent coverage level is now available as a cost-effective alternative to the 100 per cent option.
- Because of the new coverage level option, every customer will need to call Agricorp to select a level that is best for their farm business.
In the coming weeks, once premiums become available, Agricorp will send 2019 renewal packages to customers with program details and timelines. Customers will have additional time to renew or apply, so they can make the best decisions for their farm business. Producers can also keep an eye on agricorp.com for updates.
