Top-up payments are now being sent to eligible Ontario AgriStability customers. These payments represent the increased provincial compensation rate, which went from 70% to 80%. Eligible customers are now receiving a cheque in the mail or a deposit directly into their bank account.
The increase to the compensation rate is one of the recent enhancements to AgriStability, improving support for farmers. Top-up payments are in effect starting with the 2020 program year.
Still time to apply for 2022 AgriStability coverage
Farmers considering how AgriStability can help protect their farms’ income have more time to secure 2022 coverage. The deadline for AgriStability applications and fee payment has been extended to June 30, 2022.
The extension gives new and existing AgriStability customers more time and flexibility to assess evolving risks and determine how AgriStability can help manage those risks.
To apply, farmers can submit a New Participant Form until June 30, 2022.
