Agricorp knows Ontario farmers have long to-do lists. Completing their Farm Business Registration (FBR) is probably one of the easier tasks farmers can check off their lists today.
Farmers can follow the simple steps below to register their farm businesses by March 1.
1 Select an AFO
Each year, producers can direct their registration to one of three accredited farm organizations (AFOs). Before choosing an AFO, read the
FBR information sheet to learn about what each AFO offers.
2 Pay the invoice
Pay by March 1 in order to complete the registration and confirm membership. The 2020 FBR invoice amount is $240 plus HST.
3 Start getting the benefits
When producers register their farm businesses, they:
Ontario farm businesses that gross $7,000 or more in farm income annually are required to register each year.
By completing their registration, farmers can qualify for various benefits. Completing the registration after the March 1 deadline can also affect a farmer's eligibility in other government programs.
