The government has extended the deadline to enrol and pay the fee for
AgriStability to July 3, without penalty. This gives farmers more time and flexibility to make business decisions and assess their program coverage needs, especially while dealing with the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Though deadlines have changed, it is best to enrol before July 3 for customers able to do so, allowing time to process applications and do any necessary follow-up.
Why choose AgriStability?
In a time when business is anything but usual, we understand that farmers are thinking about things such as:
- Increased expenses
- Production losses
- Market volatility
AgriStability can help. The program is designed to provide affordable, whole farm coverage, especially in times of disaster.
- Farmers pay just $315 for every $100,000 of reference margin.
- It helps with cash flow when unexpected disasters happen.
- Coverage can be used to leverage financing.
- Farmers can request an interim payment.
AgriStability helps
AgriStability has helped many Ontario farmers in recent years. For example, when livestock farmers faced falling market prices in 2015 and 2016, AgriStability paid them $80 million. Also, AgriStability made significant payments to growers who faced rising costs for greenhouse operations from 2015 to 2017.
Easier to enrol
It's now easier to enrol in AgriStability because less information about a customer's farming history is required to determine the fee and reference margin. This means less paperwork for customers.
To enrol in AgriStability, fill out the
new participant form, available on agricorp.com, and submit the form by mail or fax.
