The governments of Canada and Ontario have extended the deadline to secure 2023 bee health coverage for Production Insurance to October 7, 2022.
This extension gives beekeepers more time to make coverage decisions as they work to overcome last year’s hive losses. Moving the enrolment and coverage change deadline is intended to give beekeepers additional time to assess their coverage needs, as September is a very busy time for the industry.
Agricorp will contact existing customers in September, but they will still have until October 7 to make any changes to their coverage. Coverage information and premium rates for 2023 will be posted on agricorp.com in late September.
The 2023 coverage period for bee health is from November 1, 2022, to May 15, 2023.
Even though beekeepers have more time, enrolment is open now. All beekeepers need to do is call Agricorp, and staff will walk them through the enrolment process. Agricorp is here to help.
